Gregg Braden & Bruce Lipton Teach Me a Few Things

Posted on Oct 20th, 2006 by onemind : Synthesizer onemind
Two weeks ago, I was blessed to spend a weekend in the presence of three spiritual geniuses. At a conference hosted by The Conference Works! folks, I was privileged to hear from world-class scientific and spiritual thinkers, writers and teachers Gregg Braden and Bruce Lipton. As an added bonus, I spent three hours listening to and participating in a workshop on Conscious Language with Robert Tennyson Stevens. It was a life-changing weekend.

I'd spent a full weekend with Braden a year or two ago in Oakland where I learned about his work on The God Code, one of the seminal scientific spirituality works of our time. In that book, Braden describes his discovery deep in our DNA of a message from our Creator, how he encountered and decoded the message, and what is yet to come. He is now nearing completion of his second book on that subject, which he plans to publish in the first half of 2007. Since I'd heard his in-depth seminar on his major work, I didn't expect to hear a lot of new material from Braden this weekend and that turned out to be the case. I was not disappointed, however. His latest book, Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer, has some astonishing experiences and insights. He shared some of them with us and empowered us to participate in a couple of experiences tha were quite mind-blowing. He also did a Heart Math demo that was quite impressive.

Dr. Lipton focused on his new book, The Biology of Belief, and managed to stuff my head full of interesting, intriguing and exciting new factual information and studies. Lipton is a former cellular biologist who has done some serious pioneering work in the field of epigenetics, "the study of the molecular mechanisms by which environment controls gene activity." It was fascinating stuff. I gathered dozens of new facts but more importantly came away with a much deeper appreciation for and belief in the notion that energy (and that's really all there is, you know!) generated by beliefs and thoughts controls our behavior and not, as we have so often been taught by Scientism, our genes.

The Conference Works folks like to add an unannounced speaker to their schedules fairly often. The third speaker this time was indeed not only fascinating but one of his demonstrations changed my life. You can read about Stevens' work on his Web site at http://www.masterysystems.com. He has spent 39 years studying how we say things and how the way we say things impacts what we experience in our lives. This is an area of great fascination for me and one on which I've spent a lot of time and authored one book as well, and have a second book in progress. But Stevens' demonstration produced a life-changing event for me.

One of the volunteers who came forward to be treaed by Stevens' techniques was a 70-year-old man who indicated he has prostate cancer. Using his linguistic approaches, Stevens was able to get this man to say that he felt unable to express himself creatively because he couldn't express himself perfectly. I had an epiphany. That's what I've been doing for the past few years and I thought I'd gotten past that. It turned my life around. My wife says "I sent a perfect husband off to Irvine and he came back even more perfect." (She's not very objective, admittedly.)

In fact, my renewed activity and presence here at Zaadz can be traced directly to the changes that took place in me that Saturday evening in Irvine.
